The notebook's ruled lines are designed by Prof. Haruo Hibino's research team at BB STONE Design Psychology Unit, Inc., a company of Chiba University's Faculty of Engineering. The ruling is the same used in the Hobonichi Note.
The unique ruled paper has horizontal lines that are intermittently intersected by short vertical lines, creating a subtle grid. Despite the optical illusion caused by the brain, the lines appear to be straight. The design is gentle and does not overwhelm the reader, allowing for comfortable writing and creating charts.
