A fox rides a bicycle along the shoreline as the stars of the night sky sparkle overhead. Tied up in the basket of the light blue bicycle is what appears to be a crescent moon. We can only wonder to whom the fox is delivering the moon. This imaginative artwork by illustrator Hiroko Kubota is reminiscent of the cover of a picture book and has been created specially for the Hobonichi Techo HON.

The cover features a cat mailing a letter in a mailbox under a street lamp, while its gaze is fixed on a fox on the other side. The facial expressions, the starry sky, the distant city, and the reflective water were all carefully crafted to achieve a perfect balance in the artwork. Working closely with Kubota, we revised numerous details to achieve just the right result. The year 2025 is beautifully foil-pressed in a slightly muted gold. The contents are the same as the Hobonichi Techo Cousin book, including weekly pages with a convenient time schedule, providing a two-page spread for each week for effortless planning.
