The Techo features a design inspired by Shigesato Itoi's 1994 Super Nintendo game, MOTHER 2 (EarthBound in North America). It showcases 25 photographs from the game, including the iconic group photos shown during the ending credits. These sepia-tone photos, captured by the mysterious Camera Man, capture the main character Ness and his friends' journey through new places and memorable moments. The custom endpaper for this design features the elusive cameraman taking your photo and saying the famous "fuzzy pickles" line from the game. Just like the ending credits, this Techo will serve as a treasured book of memories when filled with everyday moments. It also comes with a Kraken Zip-Up Bag, featuring one of the game's iconic boss characters, to safely store your everyday items.

The book uses thin and light yet durable Tomoe River paper. This paper that underwent an overhaul with the 2024 edition techo is more resistant to bleed through, lighter despite being the same thickness, and has a smoother surface by adjusting the fibers of the paper.
