The Story Behind the Bags that Sold Out in Two Minutes

Ami and Jason Richter are the husband-and-wife team that co-founded Lug Bags in 2005. Their vision was to create highly colourful, and functional, bags for people on the go. After meeting at a trade fair in 2004, the two quickly became a couple, pooled their savings and Lug Bags was born. Their first big break followed soon after, when their Puddle Jumper bag was featured on the “O List” of the Oprah Magazine in 2006. In 2015, Lug Bags joined QVC selling their bags directly to their consumers and the Puddle Jumper was sold out within two minutes of being featured. 

Keeping up with the times and listening to their consumers was key to surviving the pandemic. Their new designs featured wipeable pockets so that they could be easily wiped down and sanitized along with easily accessible pockets to keep face masks and sanitizers.
