for the money, the pilot metropolitan is a good fountain pen. I bought this nib and ink feeder as a unit because my feeder had a crack that seemed ink and left my hands very messy. But my old nib was quite nice and had a good flow. This new nib will need some work on it to perfect the flow, I suspect. I’ll be smoothing the inside of the nib’s slit with a fine brass shim, (a bit like the way a dental assistant files off excess filling material on a freshly filled tooth. There must be a minute snag somewhere, because the flow is very choppy. I suspect it’s an issue with quality control at the factory. Hopefully, it’s fixable.
