FIELD NOTES - FALL FLOWERS /AUTUMN 2025 marks the release of the 68th quarterly edition, “Fall Flowers,” highlighting three often overlooked late-season blooms: purple coneflower, false foxglove, and common chicory. These flowers continue to brighten shorter, colder days when spring blooms are long gone. Jennifer Farrell of Starshaped Press created charming illustrations in the style of early 20th-century publishers’ bindings, while Laura Garcia of Paper Perennial crafted the beautiful flower animations seen in the accompanying film.
The cover, printed on Mohawk’s “Midnight Blue” Mosaic stock with a burlap texture, uses three subtle metallic inks to capture the look of aged cloth books. Inside, you’ll find light blue-gray ruled pages on Domtar Lynx paper, plus information and practical uses for each flower on the inside back cover.
