Kaweco King Limited Edition Fountain pen

Size

Kaweco King Fountain Pen is the epitome of luxury and is as close to royalty as it gets for a pen. The pen uses a side-lever filling system. This historic filling system was very famous around 1925, and by pulling the lever, a silicone bladder compresses inside the barrel. Simultaneous dipping of the nib into an ink bottle and releasing of the lever creates a vacuum inside the bladder and soaks the ink into it.

The cap, barrel and grip section are made of celluloid. Only two factories worldwide were still producing celluloid at the time of production. Celluloid is one of the most desirable raw materials for crafting fine writing instruments.

The crown at the top of the pen is there to symbolize royalty (hence the name). The Crown is cast in solid sterling silver and is 18 karat gold-plated (vermeil). The clip is solid brass, while the side-lever is steel - both plated with 18 karat gold.

The two-tone rhodium plated 18 karat gold nib highlights the pen, in size 6. The Stub nib provides an extremely soft and fluid writing experience.

The K-nib has a ball pointed tip and is 1.2 mm broad and rotund. The K-nib is bi-colour rhodium plated 18-carat gold and manufactured by Peter Bock of Heidelberg. It gives extremely soft and fluid handwriting without demanding much of the user‘s attention about the angle of the nib on the paper.

Limited to 300 pieces, the Kaweco King is embedded in a luxury black wooden box, a polishing tissue and a Kaweco Certificate.
